New items coming to Demimonde

  

Black Bird Incense 

A new addition to the shelves at Demimonde, Black Bird incense from Ballard, WA.  It is incense but not as you know it.  Pairing nuanced fragrances often reserved for perfume with the ancient tradition of incense burning, they create mysterious and rich scents for your home.

We have 5 of their unique incense, Blood Countess is one of their most popular.  Based on a warm resinous, and spicy fragrance, infused with dragon's blood resin.  The incense comes in stylish little gold colored tins, the lid of which doubles as a base to burn them on.  The cones burn for around 15 minutes but the scent will last for hours.

 Our Endless Summer Days 

Demimonde marked a real milestone this summer by hiring it's first employee, Julia Platt-Hepworth. She keeps the doors open on Sundays and Mondays, helping me with all the minutia that a shop requires and has been invaluable in helping get the website off the ground.  She's become quite the production assistant even though her expertise is in fashion styling - working with notable photographers and publications internationally and in the Portland area.  Along with Julia, I have been lucky to have Carlie Armstrong as an intern.  Carlie is a creative force that has the sincerest "let's do it" attitude that has helped with a lot of projects around the shop.  And she is an amazing photographer too!

I had an intuition that letting these creative women work together without too much direction from me, that they would come up with a new Look Book for Demimonde.  I'm so happy to share the result of their collaboration.  I love the Indian summer feel with airy sunlight -  it captures the treasured Pacific Northwest sunshine that will carry us warmly into the fall.

Trunk Sale with Hart Variations

This Thursday, July 25th, we will be hosting an intimate trunk sale with the lovely Katie J. Evans of Hart-Variations.  Her line of jewelry is like a tiny little reliquary you can wear. Preciously preserved butterfly wings, flakes of snakeskin or the tiniest skull set in a glass viewing case, intimately displaying the beauty of the natural world and encapsulating the endless palette of surprising color and texture that nature creates.   

Please join us from 6 - 9 pm to meet Katie and browse her beautiful work.

 FINALLY.... Demimonde Shop website launching this summer!   The sight will have a selection of Demimonde Jewelry, vintage jewelry and accessories and the best work made by the amazing designers I carry here at the shop.   In the meantime, I am trying to get a lot of new work done for the online store...

I have been bringing in lots of "new" vintage jewelry to the shop.  Really in love with bracelets right now... pile it on.
